In 1987, while blending family and career, Gayle Heron set out to develop a truly original range of spa orientated face and body care products – a range based upon the ancient knowledge held by the indigenous peoples of Australia.

Recognizing the latent powers within the diversity of Australia’s native flora, Gayle researched extensively into this field, building upon her own family’s history in product formulation and industrial chemistry. (Gayle's late father was, for many years, an industrial chemist for a major cosmetics house, and her brother also has extensive experience in the industry).

However, integrating the vast faculties of knowledge held by Aboriginal tribes for many centuries regarding such ingredients called for many new processes to be created to successfully manufacture such a line. Despite the fact that in recent years information regarding the properties and therapeutic value of these ingredients has increasingly become available to Western scientists, as Gayle became more inspired and entrenched in the development of her concept, she recognized that to truly do it justice, the way the ingredients were sourced, harvested, preserved, and combined with other healing modalities such as herbalism, colour therapy and aromatherapy demanded a unique methodology.

Consequently, following seemingly endless research into traditional Indigenous healing modalities, investigative journeys across the Australian continent, and years of product research and trials, in 2000 Gayle finally launched her unique range under the name bestowed upon the company by an Australian Aboriginal elder who had worked closely with her throughout the development years.
